Bristol Township School District Board Meeting: Revising Health and Safety Plan Guidelines

Dear Bristol Township School District Community,

I am writing to inform you that the School Board of Directors met last night to revise the Health and Safety Plan guidelines, effective immediately today, Wednesday, February 23, 2022. The revised plan makes optional the wearing of masks in schools, allowing individuals to make their own choices regarding personal protection.

While mandatory masking is no longer required, many students and staff may still choose to wear masks as a precautionary measure. It's essential for everyone to respect each other's decisions, without shaming, questioning, or bullying those who do or don't wear masks. We must work together to maintain a safe and supportive environment for all.

As mentioned in my previous letter, students are still required to wear masks on school transportation as mandated by the federal government. Additionally, it is crucial that all employees, contractors, and students report any positive COVID-19 test results to the district.

We encourage everyone to use masks based on their individual comfort level and for high-risk individuals. Masks will still be required for students riding the bus due to federal law, as well as for quarantining and masking when a student comes into contact with anyone who tests positive or appears sick.

I want to emphasize that while we are moving forward with revised guidelines, it's essential for everyone to prioritize their health and well-being. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the safety of our students and staff.
